Eagle Fun Days 2020

The 2020 Eagle Fun Days Celebration is going to be a bit different this year. Fun Days is a longstanding Eagle Tradition. In the past, over 30,000 people, both residents and visitors, came to downtown Eagle for the community festival. For 2020, The City of Eagle is taking a split approach by planning some online activities and some modified in-person events. The decision to hold modified in-person and online events came after careful consideration of our businesses, the City budget, the health risks, and the City Council’s input.

On July 11th, Eagle will be hosting a revamped Eagle Fun Days Market downtown called “Eat. Shop. Eagle.” The plan is to fill the vendor list with Eagle businesses and encourage people to shop locally. This market is part of the City’s efforts to help Eagle businesses recover in the wake of COVID-19. “In the past, Eagle Fun Days has been a poor sales weekend for Eagle businesses outside of the Downtown core,” Eagle Mayor Jason Pierce said. “This year, we are inviting businesses from all corners of Eagle to come downtown and show what they have to offer. I hope this will help businesses that have taken some financial hits in recent months.” The City has added “Eat. Shop. Eagle” to our vendor application form at https://www.cityofeagle.org/1720/Event-Vendor-Application.

The City is also working to adapt our Eagle Fun Days Fireworks Show. This year it will be a “Drive-In Fireworks Show” on Friday, July 10th, at Eagle Island State Park. More information will be released as plans develop.

Our Parks and Recreation Department has worked diligently to translate some of our biggest Eagle Fun Days events into virtual experiences. Instead of the Wet and Wild Parade, the City will be hosting two virtual events: the #FunDaysFillUp Challenge and the Backyard Float Competition. The Eagle Fun Day Run will be a virtual race this year. That means race participants can run a 5k or 10k on their own time around their home. And the annual Custom Car Show that accompanies Eagle Fun Days will be moving to Facebook. For more information on the virtual events, please visit https://www.cityofeagle.org/498/Virtual-Eagle-Fun-Days.

This year, we want to bring the joy and cheer of Eagle Fun Days to all residents, whether they want to come to Downtown Eagle, participate from home, or both! We hope to see everyone in person at next year’s Eagle Fun Days as we celebrate Eagle’s 50th Anniversary!
