State of the City Youth Scholarship Fund

Last year, we brought forward a new scholarship opportunity for high school seniors continuing their education. The post-secondary scholarship program establishes financial support for vocational training or pursuing education in the arts. This scholarship opportunity was funded directly by sponsorships and donors to the 2018 State of the City Address. With the help of these sponsors, we were able to offer four Eagle High seniors a kick start to their education.

This fall, I participated in the Mayor’s Walking Challenge for the High Five Children's Health Collaborative. By reaching an average of over 10,000 steps a day, I earned $1,000 to donate to the community. I have pledged these winnings to the 2019 scholarship fund.

The 2019 State of the City Address will be held Thursday, February 7th at 4:00 p.m. in the beautiful Chateau des Fleurs. We are excited to present this year’s State of the City with staff and members from both the City and the Eagle Chamber of Commerce working together on this annual community event. We would like to ask for your participation in this endeavor.

Your support of the 2019 State of the City allows the public to attend this event free of charge; as well as establishes a base for the underserved community to continue in higher education; whether it be college, high demand construction industry training, or other vocational training.

Below is information on the various levels of sponsorships. For your generosity, we can offer complimentary reserved seats to the Mayor’s speech, and the opportunity to attend Business Afterhours Tabletop Tradeshow presented by the Chamber of Commerce. Please respond by Friday, January 18, 2019.

We are proud to call you a part of our community. Please consider sponsoring this event or donating to the post-secondary scholarship program. With your help, we can continue to make what we can all agree is the greatest community. Eagle is home.

Stan Ridgeway, Mayor
