April 16, 2019 – For Immediate Release
Boise River flows will be increasing starting Tuesday, April 16 through Friday, April 19. The Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation are increasing river flows by 500 cubic feet per second (cfs) every day this week. Flows will reach about 5,690 cfs by Friday evening.
Although official flood stage for the Boise River is 7,000 cfs, areas of the Eagle Greenbelt are already experiencing localized flooding. The Eagle Greenbelt underpass beneath Eagle Road, on the north side of the river, closed on April 12 due to flooding. Greenbelt travelers should detour to the Riverside Drive crosswalk to cross Eagle Road. The Boise River runs deep, cold, and fast. Use extreme caution near river banks and in flooded areas.
You can check the Boise River flows in real time on the National Weather Service Site.
