Department Overview
It is the responsibility of the Planning and Zoning Department to provide for the administration of the City of Eagle Zoning Ordinance, the Land Subdivision Ordinance, the Flood Control Ordinance, and the Comprehensive Plan. The Department serves as the technical staff on planning and zoning issues before the City Council, the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Design Review Board.
The Department also serves as the technical staff on transportation-related issues and works cooperatively with the Ada County Highway District (ACHD), Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS), and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) to facilitate transportation projects with the City of Eagle and the greater Treasure Valley. The Department also assists the public in compliance and zoning requirements including the interpretation of the zoning ordinance, land subdivisions ordinance, and the submittal of applications for the said ordinances.

Fiscal Impact Worksheet Required
A completed fiscal impact worksheet is required to be submitted with the following applications:
•Annexation, development agreement modification, and/or rezone applications seeking to change the density/intensity of the existing or previously approved uses on the site
•Comprehensive Plan Amendment
•Deannexation
•Preliminary plat and/or preliminary planned unit development applications for all commercial subdivisions and/or all subdivisions with 10 or more residential lots

Application Submittal Requirements
•With the exception of construction drawings, all plans larger than 8.5"x11" are required to be collated in complete sets and folded according to department standards. Unfolded or improperly folded plans and applications will not be processed. Instructions showing the proper folding techniques can be found in the Quick Links section on this page, or can be accessed through this link. Examples of properly folded plans are also available for review at the Planning & Zoning front desk.
•Please submit the P&Z Application Fee Calculation Request Form a minimum of two (2) working days prior to application submittal to confirm required application fees. Applications will not be processed without payment of application fees.
•The requirement for submittal meetings has been suspended until further notice. Applications may be submitted in person at Eagle City Hall or mailed to the above mailing address.
